Warranties

*WARRANTY POLICY*

If this agreement falls under the jurisdiction of the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), it will not nullify or infringe upon any rights granted to the consumer by that legislation.

1. *Extended Warranty*
– Pocketshop is not obligated to provide any additional warranty but may offer an extended warranty for up to 1 year. Such an extended warranty will only be applicable if explicitly disclosed, recorded, and communicated to the customer, and shall be subject to the communicated terms.
– Warranties for products sold on our website vary depending on the product and manufacturer, as we source products from different suppliers. The warranty provided by Pocketshop is based solely on the supplier’s warranty.

2. *Customer Responsibility*
– Customers are encouraged to review and understand the terms of any warranties that apply to the goods they purchase.
– Warranty claims should be submitted to the appropriate party as identified in the warranty terms.

3. *Warranty Variability*
– The warranty for each product varies depending on its origin. Any warranties provided by Pocketshop are based solely on the supplier’s warranty.
– If a product is covered by a warranty limited to repair or replacement, Pocketshop will not provide a refund for the returned item.

4. *Acts of God*
– Acts of God may require insurance coverage and are not covered under warranties.

5. *Customer-Induced Damage*
– Pocketshop will not uphold warranties for any product that carries physical damages caused by the customer, including product abuse or negligence.
– The warranty may become void if you attempt to repair items on your own.

6. *Return Policy*
– Returns not covered by the CPA are on a return-to-base model, meaning the customer is responsible for returning the goods to Pocketshop at their own expense.
– Original packaging is required for warranty claims. Failure to provide original packaging may lead to rejection of the claim or a penalty/fee.

7. *Manufacturer’s Warranty*
– If a product only has a manufacturer’s warranty, the customer may seek assistance from Pocketshop in the return or repair process, but Pocketshop is not obligated to provide such assistance.

8. *Data Protection*
– Creating recovery disks and having a backup solution can help protect your data but is not covered by warranties.

9. *Physical Damage and Customer Negligence*
– Pocketshop will not be liable for any damage caused by the customer. Any product with visible physical damage will not be accepted for return, and no warranty will be upheld for such damage.

10. *Component Warranties*
– Warranties for components are limited. If the manufacturer provides a warranty, that warranty will be applicable.

11. *Electrical Damage*
– Warranty claims will not be accepted if an item malfunctions or is damaged due to lightning or electrical shortages. Customers should ensure their electronic devices are protected against such risks.

12. *Software Issues*
– Software-related issues or viruses are not covered under warranties.

13. *Defects and Damage*
– Pocketshop does not cover defects arising from fair wear and tear, willful damage, accidents, negligence, improper use, failure to follow instructions, or unauthorized repairs.

14. *Consumable Parts*
– Consumable parts such as batteries, ink cartridges, and light bulbs may not be covered under the warranty.

15. *Cosmetic Damage*
– Cosmetic damage, such as scratches or dents, may not be covered under warranties.

16. *Monitors*
– Monitors sold by Pocketshop come with no warranty from Pocketshop. Warranty claims for monitors must be handled directly with the manufacturer.

17. *Motherboards and CPUs*
– Warranty claims for physically damaged motherboards will be denied. Physical damage includes chips, burns, scratches, thermal paste in the CPU socket, and bent pins.
– CPU-pin damage is considered physical damage. Pocketshop will not accept warranty claims or returns for CPUs with bent pins.

18. *Laptops*
– Pocketshop does not offer any warranty for laptops. The manufacturer’s warranty will be applicable, and any claims must be handled with the relevant manufacturer.

19. *Gaming Chairs*
– The limited 1-year warranty for gaming chairs applies only to manufacturing defects and not to damage caused by wear and tear, abuse, or neglect.

20. *Mining Equipment*
– Items used for mining come with a limited warranty of three months. Customers should be aware of this limitation when purchasing items for mining purposes.

21. *Computer Assembly*

30. *Modifications*
– Upgrading or modifying your hardware or software may void your warranty.

31. *Discontinued Products*
– If a product under warranty is discontinued or out of stock, the manufacturer or service center may suggest a suitable replacement product. Pocketshop cannot request specific replacements unless agreed upon by the manufacturer or service center.

32. *Tampering Restrictions*
– Pocketshop does not have the authorization to open or tamper with certain devices or products, as this may void the warranty.

33. *Local Warranties*
– All warranties are local (based in South Africa). Items taken internationally will not be covered by an international warranty unless specifically stated by the manufacturer. Pocketshop holds no liability for charges on the return of items outside South African borders.
